Alternating Columns - How to Play

Objective: Move all 104 cards (two full decks) to the 8 Foundation piles, building from Ace to King by suit.

Setup:

Basic Rules:

Stock: Click to deal one card to the Waste. When empty, click to reuse all Waste cards.
Foundations: Build up from Ace to King by suit (A-2-3...K). Each suit needs two complete sequences.
Tableau: Build down by rank (K-Q-J...2-A) following the alternating pattern explained below.

The Alternating Pattern Rule:

Cards in the Tableau must follow a specific pattern marked by the SS/OC badge on each card:
SS (Same Suit): If a card shows SS, you must place a card of the same suit and one rank lower on it.
OC (Opposite Color): If a card shows OC, you must place a card of the opposite color and one rank lower on it.
The pattern always alternates: SS → OC → SS → OC...
Example: On 10♠ (SS), you can place 9♠. Then on 9♠ (OC), you can place 8♥ or 8♦. Then on 8♥ (SS), you can place 7♥.

Moving Cards:

Select: Click any available card (Waste, top card of Foundation, or any Tableau card).
Stack Selection: When you select a Tableau card, it and all cards above it are selected as a unit.
Move: Click a highlighted green destination to move your selection there.
Double-Click: Double-click a card to automatically send it to a Foundation if possible.
Drag & Drop: You can also drag cards directly to their destinations.

Valid Moves:

To Foundation: Only Aces can start a Foundation. Then build up by suit (A,2,3...K).
To Tableau: Follow the alternating pattern shown by the SS/OC badge on the destination card.
To Empty Column: Any card or stack can be placed on an empty Tableau column.
From Foundation: You can pull back cards from incomplete Foundations to the Tableau.

Auto Finish: When both Stock and Waste are empty, click "Auto Finish" to automatically complete any possible moves to Foundations.

Winning: Get all 104 cards to the Foundations in proper sequence.
