Match Point Grid - How to Play

Objective: Score points by placing cards on the 4x4 grid and removing adjacent matches. Complete the deck without running out of space.

Setup: A standard 52-card deck is shuffled. The 4x4 grid starts empty.

Gameplay:

  • A card is shown in the "Next Card" area.
  • Click any empty square on the 4x4 grid to place the card there.
  • The game automatically checks adjacent cards (up, down, left, right).
  • Adjacent cards matching the placed card by Rank OR Suit are removed and scored.
  • The placed card stays unless removed by a later match.
  • Removed cards leave empty squares.

Scoring:

  • 1 card removed: 1 point
  • 2 cards removed: 3 points (1+1 + 1 bonus)
  • 3 cards removed: 5 points (1+1+1 + 2 bonus)
  • 4 cards removed: 7 points (1+1+1+1 + 3 bonus)

Game End:

  • The game ends successfully after all 52 cards are placed.
  • You lose if you draw a card but there are no empty squares left on the grid to place it.

Strategy: Balance scoring high points with keeping enough empty space available on the grid to avoid losing!
